Community Showcase Brawler
Brawler is the close-range Strength style: you fight with your fists and hit harder the longer a fight goes.
Where to get it: On the Anchor Town beach by the docks, behind the shop that sells fishing rods and worms. Trainers show a red mark over their heads. Cost: 250 gold.
Brawler skills
- Shoulder Charge: Dash forward and carry the first target with you. Slamming them into a wall deals extra damage and stuns them.
- Punch Barrage: A rapid flurry of punches.
Brawler passive
- Brawler: The more you are hit, the harder your next hit lands; the more you hit, the less damage the next hit you take deals. At the 10-stack cap it is roughly +7.73% damage dealt and 8.34% damage reduction.
Brawler quest chain
- Brawler 1: use the push-up emote 20 times and the sit-up emote 20 times (unlocks the Brawler passive)
- Brawler 2: take 200 damage and deal 200 damage (unlocks Shoulder Charge)
- Brawler 3: deal 300 damage twice as listed (unlocks Punch Barrage)
- Brawler 4: take 400 damage and deal 400 damage (reward not listed yet)

Novice Swordsman
Novice Swordsman has no buttons of its own. It upgrades the three sword skills you already get from Corrupt Marines and Guards.
Where to get it: At the Anchor Town pond. From the Captain's Bread NPC, walk to the fruit and vegetable stall and jump the wall behind it. Cost: 250 gold.
Novice Swordsman passives
- Power Slash Upgrade: Power Slash now fires a projectile.
- Sword Lunge Upgrade: You can turn while lunging, and the lunge is empowered.
- Whirlwind Slash Upgrade: Creates a larger, empowered slash.
Novice Swordsman quest chain
- Novice Swordsman 1: deal 200 damage with Power Slash
- Novice Swordsman 2: deal 200 damage with Sword Lunge
- Novice Swordsman 3: deal 200 damage with Whirlwind Slash
- Novice Swordsman 4: 200 damage with each of the three skills, plus 1,000 damage with any sword

Marksman
Marksman is the Precision style for guns and thrown weapons, so you need a sidearm such as Daddy's Gift or the Flintlock before it does anything.
Where to get it: In Maple Village: enter from the docks and head to Rocky Shores in the top-left of the village. The trainer stands in the corridor behind Captain Esopo. Cost: 1,000 gold.
Marksman skills
- Hunter's Mark: Mark a target so your next projectile tracks toward it.
- Quickdraw: Your next skill either has its cooldown refreshed or its wind-up shortened.
Marksman passive
- Hunter's Timing: Release a Marksman skill at the right moment to empower it with more speed and damage.

Trickster
Trickster is the hidden Agility style built on invisibility, poison and traps. It is the only style you cannot simply buy.
Where to get it: Start with Loki at the Anchor Town harbor. After his first quest he moves to a seat on the Clown Town Ferris wheel; climb up to reach him. Cost: 1,000 gold.
Trickster skills
- Party Trick: Turn invisible for a short time. Your next basic attack or Poisoned Shiv deals bonus damage that scales with Agility. Any attack other than placing Jack in the Box ends the invisibility.
- Poisoned Shiv: Throw a shiv that deals damage and applies poison.
- Jack in the Box: Place an invisible trap that springs on the first enemy to touch it.
Trickster passive
- Cheap Shot: Hitting an enemy from behind applies Bleed with a bladed weapon or Concussion with a blunt one.
Trickster quest chain
- Loki's first quest at Anchor Town (a prank errand; one item is a banana, which drops from breakable barrels)
- Get Pickpocket and Pocket Sand from Afuaru, The Hoarder (10% each)
- Trickster 1: pickpocket 100 gold and land 20 Pocket Sands
- Trickster 2: land Cheap Shot 25 times
- Trickster 3: use Party Trick to escape aggro

Match your style to your stats
Nobody has published damage numbers that would justify a tier ranking of the four styles, so we do not make one. What the Trello does tell you is which stat each style leans on and which weapons scale with that stat. Pick the style that matches where your stat points already are, and the weapon list tells you what to pair it with.

Trickster's claws and daggers also gain from Agility, and Marksman needs a sidearm such as Daddy's Gift (20% from the Blonde Goblin in Anchor Town) or the Flintlock before its skills do anything. See the weapons page for every stat line and the stats guide for what each stat point does.
King's Punch and the other secret skills
Videos that promise a "secret style" are usually about King's Punch, which is a skill you earn from Sushi's Training quests, or about skills that drop from bosses. The full list with drop rates is on the skills page.

How many fighting styles are in Grand Blue?
Four in Early Access: Brawler, Novice Swordsman, Marksman and Trickster. Brawler and Novice Swordsman are bought in Anchor Town, Marksman in Maple Village, and Trickster is unlocked through Loki’s quest chain.
Where is the Trickster trainer?
Loki. You first meet him at the Anchor Town harbor and do his opening quest. After you have the Pickpocket and Pocket Sand skills from Afuaru, The Hoarder, he waits on a seat of the Clown Town Ferris wheel and sells Trickster for 1,000 gold.
How much does each fighting style cost?
Brawler and Novice Swordsman cost 250 gold each, Marksman costs 1,000 gold and Trickster costs 1,000 gold once Loki’s quest requirements are done.
How do I get King's Punch?
King's Punch is a skill, not a style. It is the reward for Sushi's Training 5, the last step of the training-dummy quests. It deals 14 (+0.7/Lvl, +4.67/Upgrade) base damage and scales with Strength.
